Well put, Bruce. Could the suction line from the carb to the petcock cause problems if it had a leak (old rubber, etc. ?) Would RPM aggravate it at all ? Ahhhh, the mysteries of carburation. By the by, do you know how the carburetor was invented ? Messrs. Daimler and Benz, working on their first automobile, thought it up after watching their wives use their perfume atomizers. Of course, it worked like a champ, and they named their first car Mercedes, after Benz's daughter. Probably had a couple of beer steins over those discussions.

By the way, my machine runs like Frank's when it's that hot, but it's not always at the same RPM range or speed. I think it doesn't like humidity, feels like it's struggling a bit. However, yesterday it was 75 and dry and I put 100 miles on the bike and it ran like a sewing machine. Feels more powerful when it's that temp range, lots of pull especially when I shift into third. It's really an enjoyable bike whenever I ride it, but yesterday was outstanding.

Tim
